Heather Care have supported my daughter for some years and we’d like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank all the team, Sharon, Leonie and Naomi for their excellent care and support of Margaret during her time at home.
We were aware of how difficult and trying this role could be at times due to her complex requirements. To undertake this role with love, care and a sense of humour was exceptional and is testament to the calibre of these three carers. I always looked forward to their arrival each day, they always arrived happy and with a smile on their faces.
They are still often in my thoughts and wish them all the best in the future. We were so lucky to have them as Margaret’s carers.

Since the re commencement back in July 2020 due to COVID 19, the carers started back on a new schedule of two visits a day, morning and tea time visit.
Mum now has two carers that share the visits with mum over the week which seems to work really well as there is some consistency for mum and also me. I get to see the carers occasionally when I pop in on my way to work and this helps as we can chat about any changes or how things are going. The girls have been great in trying to get mum to chat to them as she spends a lot of time on her own. They have got to know mum quite well and know her likes and dislikes.
As a family we like this interaction with mum as we can’t spend much time with her due to work, Covid and distance of family members.
I am able to email or phone the office if I have any concerns and I get a reply quickly. I also am very pleased that the staff have followed the COVID rules to the letter always wearing their PPE even putting a mask on mum when they take her out for fresh air in her chair.
Mum does not really understand why she needs help as she still thinks she can do everything her herself but it’s nice that she sees a friendly face every day.
I would recommend Heather Care to anybody who is looking for care for a relative and there has been a great improvement in the service in the last 12 months.
